ELEVATE Foundation works to empower tribal and indigenous communities across Nagaland and neighbouring regions by addressing interconnected challenges rooted in education, climate, and cultural resilience. Grounded in dignity and inclusion, we promote equality, climate adaptation, and the preservation of indigenous knowledge while striving to improve access to quality education. Through community-led engagement, targeted programs, and advocacy, we help develop sustainable strategies that reflect the lived realities of tribal and indigenous people. ELEVATE collaborates with local leaders, educators, and policymakers to build culturally rooted, climate-resilient, and equity-driven solutions that transform communities and create long-term opportunity.

Our Ecosystem

Shikha Institute

Shikha Institute, along with Shikha Academy and Shikha Labs, together form an innovative educational ecosystem dedicated to reimagining education for the 21st century. The Shikha Institute functions as a research and development organisation that works on curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and teacher reform to create new school models for India for the 21st Century. It offers a K-12, rigorous project-based curriculum program as well as the Cambridge International Diploma in Teaching and Learning (CIDTL) through a unique, immersive program while conducting cutting-edge research in areas like life skills assessment, project-based learning, scalable professional development, and AI integration in education.

Shikha Academy is the in-house laboratory school for the institute. The academy is an IGCSE-accredited K–12 school that provides affordable, high-quality education for children from low-income families, emphasising high-quality curriculum, student-centred pedagogy and meaningful assessment models to nurture confident problem solvers and system thinkers. Shikha Academy functions as the laboratory for the transformational interventions designed at the institute.

Complementing these efforts, Shikha Labs focuses on developing AI-based educational technologies and solutions to enhance learning outcomes, deriving ideas from the school and the institute and testing all products within the real school setting.

ShikshaLokam

ShikshaLokam is an education leadership catalyst. It co-creates continuous learning and improvement programs and solutions for education leaders, along with government functionaries and civil society organisations. ShikshaLokam is headquartered in Bengaluru.

ShikshaLokam programs and solutions restore the agency of education leaders (teachers, school leaders, community members, administrators, education officers, etc. ensuring an enriching learning environment for children in the K-12 public education ecosystem. By doing so, leaders’ ability to continuously improve is enhanced, they are able to solve the school improvement challenges on their own, and all our children get access to quality education as a fundamental right.

ShikshaLokam is a co-builder of the Shikshagraha movement and acts as a System Orchestrator, facilitating collaboration among governments, NGOs, and philanthropic institutions. ShikshaLokam aims to drive significant improvements in the education sector. Through the development of scalable frameworks and platforms, ShikshaLokam aligns diverse stakeholders towards shared goals, accelerating progress and ensuring a sustainable impact on education.

Mantra4Change

Mantra Social Services (Mantra4Change) aims to improve schools through a tri-fold approach - working directly with schools through our innovation projects, working with state governments to enable greater system capacity, and working with ecosystem actors to nurture a collective of changemakers. As part of our work with state governments, one of our key programs is the Punjab Education Collective - a collective of 4 organizations jointly working towards systemic school reform in the state of Punjab, for which we were recently awarded “The Collective Social Innovation Award” by the Schwab Foundation at the World Economic Forum in January 2023. Through the span of the last 10 years, we have been able to reach 272,090 schools, 276,204 education leaders, and 36,457,659 children.

NagaEd

NagaEd is a leading education and research company that provides consulting services and learning and teaching solutions to institutions seeking a contemporary, digitally-enabled educational experience. We design simpler, more supportive processes and platforms that empower institutions and prepare youth for the future of work.

NagaEd is uplifting education quality in tribal and indigenous communities by delivering teacher training courses and implementing education solutions in local institutions. NagaEd has provided quality educational resources and training to over 7000 teachers and students since its inception.
